McDonalds Differences Around the World
Every year people all over the world complete a McDonalds application and go to work in one of the thousands of McDonalds restaurants that are located all over the world. A McDonalds abroad is often very different than one in the US though. Just a few examples:
- As John Travolta’s character Vincent Vega famously said in the movie “Pulp Fiction” in France there are no Quarter Pounders at McDonalds, only a Royale with Cheese. And you can buy a beer instead of a Coke.
- In Sweden, in a place called Salen, there is a ski through window at the local McDonalds.
- There are three completely kosher McDonald’s restaurants in Israel and they are the only McDonalds restaurants in the world where you cannot buy a cheeseburger. Patties are also not fried in these restaurants, they are grilled over charcoal instead.
- One of the biggest sellers in Japanese McDonalds is a burger called the Mega Mac – it is the same recipe as a Big Mac has four patties instead of two.
